Lately I’ve been trying to make the best out of my mornings. Starting your day off happy and healthy sets the tone for the rest of the day. I decided to share some tips that really make my mornings something I look forward to.
Take your time
I’ll give myself at least fifteen minutes to lay in bed and get up gradually. This is a great time to think about what you need to get done during your day, where you have to go, or just scroll through Instagram.
Make your bed
Even if it’s just pulling your covers up and fixing your pillows, it means a cozy place to come home to. AND (bonus) it gets Evan up and out of bed too!
Track your sleeping habits
By no means am I saying to purchase a Fitbit, but keeping track of how much sleep a night makes your body happy is a good habit to have. Even if it’s just estimating when you went to sleep and counting to when you woke up. I need (minimum) 5 hours. I’m a pretty light sleeper and it’s hard for me to get more than that, but that’s fine because it’s all I need.
Also, don’t judge my napping. School does that to me.
Have a big breakfast
I try my hardest to eat a big breakfast before I leave the house. That way I’m less likely to be distracted by my stomach in the middle of a class. When I eat a meal like this I can go from 8am to 4pm, with maybe a banana in between.
I’m looking to find some sort of exercise to add to my routine. I used to do yoga in the mornings and I might try to get back into it. What sort of routine do you have in the morning?
