Our Wedding

We were married on July 27th. A random day that we chose because it seemed like a good weekend to have it, but now that day is the most significant day to us.

My bridesmaids and I rented an AirBnB and stayed together the night before my wedding. Evan and one of his groomsmen stayed at my grandmother’s house. We woke up early in the morning and got ready for the day. My cousin Samantha and one of my childhood friends Becca did my hair, and I did my own makeup.

I drove to the walkway with Becca, Sam, and Elizabeth; three of my bridesmaids who I have been friends with since grade two. Elizabeth turned on Marry You by Bruno Mars and we screamed it for the entire 10 minute drive.

The weather was beautiful. It was the perfect day to have an outdoor wedding. I waited in the car while our wedding party paired up and walked first, and then Ivy and I started our walk.

The walk to Evan from the car was long. It took almost an entire song for our wedding party, and another for me. For the wedding party we played Somewhere Only We Know by Lily Allen, and while I was walking we chose to play Stand by Me covered by Florence and the Machine. My younger sister was my maid of honour and she also walked me down the aisle.

After taking a million pictures with my lovely photographers (linked below), we went to the fire hall that was a couple seconds away and ate.

In all of our first dance pictures we are laughing hysterically because the DJ played a very slowed down, messed-up version of our song and we thought it was the funniest thing. Evan though we were disappointed he didn’t play the song we wanted, looking back at it now, it’s a funny story and the pictures are great.

The build up to the wedding was stressful, but the day was joyful and fun. I’m so lucky to have married the love of my life.
